Hotel and Accommodation Options

At FurJAM we realise that there are plenty of places for you guys to stay during the event, so we’ve taken the time to list a few different hotels around the city and in the area. Keep in mind most of the prices listed are sourced from the official websites, so have a good look at discount hotel websites such as Booking.com, Wotif and Trivago for better deals.

Main Hotel

While this year's FurJAM isn’t hosted at this hotel, we will literally be next door - so staying here is the best option if you wish to be right next to the action.

Backpackers

Whether you’re on a budget or wanting a room for 8 people, backpackers are a great cheap way of staying in Sydney and bunking with friends. Here’s a few options we know are pretty well rated.

  •   YHA Central
Location: 11 Rawson Place, Sydney (corner of Rawson Place and Pitt Street)
    Website: www.yha.com.au/Hostels/NSW/Sydney-Surrounds/Sydney-Central-Backpackers-Hostel
    Phone: (02) 9218 9000
    Beds from $39.50 per night
Private rooms from $113 per night

Sydney Central YHA is one of the largest and most popular hostels in Sydney. It is a great choice for those who want to be close to transport as it is right next to central station, Sydney’s major transport hub. It offers 4, 6 and 8 share dorms, as well as twin and triple rooms and is close to internet cafes, a breakfast bar and the Scubar nightclub.

  •   YHA Railway Square
Location: 8-10 Lee St Sydney (Behind the Adina Hotel)
    Website: www.yha.com.au/Hostels/NSW/Sydney-Surrounds/Railway-Square
    Phone: (02) 9281 9666
    Beds from $35 per night
Private Rooms from $107 per night

Railway Square YHA is another option, close to Sydney Central Station and several good cafes and eateries. Unlike Central, Railway square allows mixed gender 8 share dorms, and is unique as many of these dorms are re-purposed train carriages.

  •   Bounce Backpackers
Location: 28 Chalmers St, Surry Hills NSW 2010
    Website: bouncehostel.com.au
    Phone: (02) 9281 2222
    Beds from $40 per night
Private Rooms from $149 per night

Bounce Hostel is on the opposite side of Central station to Railway Square YHA, is right next to the Tipple Bar and has convenience stores and food close by. It has also won the Hostel of the Year Award in Australia for 2014.

A good hotel close to Central and other George Street shopping areas. Offers twin and queen bed rooms respectively, and is situated on top of a pub and restaurant.

  •   Ibis

A decent affordable hotel that has a range of room options and packages, along with several locations across Sydney. The two on here are the most accessible but there are others on the website.

Mid-Range Hotels

For those who want a few luxuries with their stay without a high end price tag we suggest trying one of these hotels.

High-Range Hotels

Feeling fancy? These are a few hotels where the service and amenities are worth the cost.
